  • Because people like to fight & argue... ALOT
  • because it is difficult to communicate without feelings. it is difficult to convey messages without gestures and facial expressions. Do yo understand?
  • Frankly, BigDaddy, it's because we are people who have with us a lot of ISSUES. Some very minor, others very big. If you're a jobless drunkard and all you do is AB all day and all night, for example, you'd obviously more likely to resort to name-calling. Worse, people feel that a website like Answerbag is a safe way of venting because they are protected by the anonymity and the distance. I wonder if people would be as bold and daring in real life, where they could actually get sued for defaming someone.
  • Yeah? you are a dummy head and a poopy pants, that was a stupid question. As an example, my answer was all in jest, some just have different types of humour or levels of being serious.
  • More than anything, I think the reason why things get so nasty on AB (or any other online posting site) is due to the fact that we are relatively anonymous. I think that we'd have more difficulty doing the same if we knew who everyone was. Also, misunderstandings occur due to not having the vocal inflections and intonations (I think that's what I mean...maybe I am not thinking of the right word). But we don't know HOW people are saying what they're saying, so we project how we THINK people are saying them. Sometimes, when a message seems to disagree with our own thoughts, we may imply that the person is responding in a very negative tone when in fact the person may just be responding without any emotions attached to it. Of course, this leads to a cycle of increased aggression as people misread how and what the others wrote more and more, and at some point (fairly early on) they become angry and closed-minded about the sitation not even considering the possibility that it's all a HUGE misunderstanding.
  • Big Daddy, Haters only hate the things they can not have, and the people they'll never be...It's just a little thing called jealousy.
