What makes you answer one question but discard another?

The way the question was asked, if i know the answer to the question, the amount of answers already. Bad grammar/spelling in a question always puts me off answering it, don't know why, perhaps it shouldn't but it does.

If I can answer something I will. If I feel I have something to offer of benefit. Or if I've got a funny idea. If a question doesn't make a lightbulb go off, I can't answer it. If I've answered it many times before, I might not answer it.

Mood or the question itself doesnt appeal to me.

I answer all of them I can, and leave the ones I can't for someone else.

I answer those that interest me, amuse me, but more importantly those in which I think I can contribute.
