  • Sure, it can be done. Though, really, only two of your three reasons would prove to be effective.
  • It depends on where you are. When I was stationed in San Diego, it was easy. Now I am over 15 miles from a supermarket, work is 12 miles in the other direction (and also ~15 miles from that same supermarket), we have sttep hills, and there is NO way I am doing all of that in 2 feet of snow when it's -15F.
  • Do you want a family one day? They can't all fit on your bike:)
  • If you live in a major city and can walk or ride anywhere you go sure. If you live in the suburbs, not very feasable. If you want kids, not likely. Where are you gonna put the car seat?
  • I think we all may be headed thataway 'fore too long!
  • It would depend upon where you live and how far you will have to go to get to work, the store, etc. I rode a bicycle 20 miles one way to work for over a year and loved it! : )
  • When i lived in the city and just retired, i started walking to the grocery store which was a half mile. I rode my bicycle to farther places. I was going to get rid of all my motor vehicles, but i moved to the country, 25 miles from any town.
