  • That would happen in an ideal world, one without missionaries. Or people who believe they have to save the souls of their neighbors. Most of the complaints are about the select few who are VERY vocal. If everyone just kept their religion to themselves, the world would be a much happier place.
  • well as one that doesnt want xtianity pushed on me, I do agree with you tho. Some do constantly gripe about it(IE my BF) I generally only give my two cents to a question, or when someone brings it before me. Otherwise,..lol "quite frankly my dear I dont give a damn" :P I love that line. My BF tends to hunt for ways to bitch about religion. I have my quarrels with some, but with some others I have no issue with. Hindus never bothered me, same with Islam, and Bhuddists, Wicca. I just want to be left to my own devices.
  • Yeah. Many people don't want religion being imposed on them, but those same people would not have any problem questioning why people believe in God and religion, for example. I think people should learn how to live and let live.
  • true I see your point of view but how would you like to be bombarded with athiest propaganda everywhere you go? what of the majority were not religious? what if athiests had a book they went by and they quoted it to you constantly and used it to try to tell you what you think is wrong? What if their viewpoint was pushed on you in television, radio, and even in government? What if your children went to school and Athiests taught there was no god? IT would bother a religious person would it not? Arent athiests free to believe what they believe? Aren't they free to live without harrassment or discrimination? "Asking for it" alone says religious people view themselves higher or more noble than non believers..what a snide egotistical comment. Religious people fight, kill, picket and lobby for their rights and claim they are being forced out of schools and government and so why can't non religious people complain about the same? at least we don't hate and kill over it. At least athiests don't knock on your door trying to convert you, or hand out pamphlets or go on "holy" wars, build multi-million dollar empires..we complain that's it, I think that is small in comparison to what religious organizations sometimes do. Maybe christians on here shouldn't downrate athiest questions or answers, or just ignore when athiests have conversations on here but they don't do they?
  • I'm with you, KWK! I think people should ignore questions they don't like on AB instead of complaining..I think they should totally ignore trolls instead of making a big deal out of 'em...I think they should ignore religion if it annoys them..but I don't think people should be telling other people what to do or think. "Keep your eyes on your own plate..mind your own manners". We are entirely too nosy and opinionated! :) Happy Friday! :)
  • I agree. If they don't believe in God or religion why do they fight against it so much. Why not just do their own thing?
  • my girlfriend does this, i don't know why, her name is Katherine Parker Cowen, i just want to know why she fights against it so much ? & she's a unitarian universalist
  • I hate 'spam" in my e mail box, I don't want it - and I don't ever want to see it again. I hate junk mail - I hate telemarkaters - I hate tv commercials - I hate billbords - I hate......I think you get the idea here. I dislike being "sold" on something - any something, and there are those few religious zellots who feel the need to sell their particular faith to me constantly. Not you perhaps, ( and thank you very much.). but some small misguided few - and I hate when they do it to me. I don't care about their religion - I don't even want to know what their religion is or why it's the best religion going around today - yet these suckers try to sell it to me like a used car dealer. It's just a few people - just like it's just a few people who send me "spam" in my e mail, but they are anoying as hell and I'd do some serious dammage to them if I thought I could get away with it. Well, minor dammage - I'm not a bad guy really.
  • First off why would you ever "Rip your hair out?" People do what they want. You might believe in one thing and someone else will another. Don't get so up-tight about it. You will be saved according to your religion. So you are safe.
