I think the extent that humans have progressed is so unfathomable in the Earth's timeframe, that there's really no way for any other species to become dominant - because we simply won't let them. . Robots, on the other hand, may well take over the world within 150 years; the saddest part is that we know how powerful they can potentially be, but we will probably continue making them more advanced anyway, until they are *too* advanced.
