I don't think so. I don't know if I will still be around in 50 years (age), but humanity will certainly still be there, albeit with more problems than today.

According to acertain book that I have read, scientists have predict that we will have supercomputers that will be capable of emulating the human brain with absolute biological, chemical, elctrochemical percision by 2020. Now that's a relitivly short period of time. Now, the above mentioned simulation will be what will ultimatly lead fundemental knowleage about our brains and our consciousness . Now with the knowleage that I have just given you, what is your anwser? p.s. If you truly are intrested in cognitive science and artificial intelligance, then you should read a book entitled ' The Singularity': when humans will transsend their biology.
