ouch, that sucks bad...i advise for you to just allow yourself more time. time will heal anything (except cancer and AIDS). you'll be fine^_^. I know that you must be feeling pretty down, but don't go on the rebound until you're positive that you can fully commit yourself and not hurt or get hurt by someone.

I agree with lemonkc +4, But anyways I am in the EXACT SAME BOAT, but mine has only been 3 months since our mutual split, and yes Iam still heartbroken and still madly in love with him, I dont know how long, but sometimes I just cry because i miss him so much. and here due to family troubles we are the bestest friends and I know it'll hurt later but IAM close to him again and I am happy. You cant, it sucks, you just learn to cope. My mom ALWAYS told me this when she was going through "Dads" when I was a teenager. "You'll never forget your first love, You'll just learn to live without them" its true

give yourself some time and try not to think about him... i know its hard at first but you have to be strong... go out with your friends and have fun with them...... Like loveforeverandalways said and i like it " You'll never forget your first love, you'll just learn to live without them".... and its true i'm gonna keep it in my mind... Good Luck

Give it time. It's okay to cry, but don't mope. Writing poetry might also help.

Well I hate to tell ya but really you never really get over it. You adapt, you cry, you struggle, you manage to survive. Eventually you date again, but always have your guard up. After a few years you begin to look at the good things that happened in your relationship and smile. "The Way We Were" kind of says it all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-KPGh3wysw Eventually, you rationally accept the break up and are able to move on. I still love my ex very much. He still means the world to me. And it started over 37 years ago and ended in just over 2.5 years. Yes, "It is the laughter, we will remember"
