  • It is not unusual (and done by many who have gotten the job) to call and ask how they are doing on your references and if you can provide any other information. Shows you are interested and value the job. This has worked with our interview team when I was working.
  • I'd wait a week or so. If I/we are interested, we will definetely be back in contact. With some company's, there are EEOC requirements that have to be done, even in the 1st round.
  • If you haven't sent a thank you for the interview, yet, do so. If nothing else, it may be a reminder to them. I usually feel like I should wait a week or so, but still look around. You can still apply to other places, too. That way, if nothing comes, you still have your irons in the fire.
  • Well, I would be "that" person you are waiting on...lol! Sometimes I call back within a day.. other times a week or two but I try to move fast because I assume the person interviewed at other places and is well liked there too. If they are checking on your references, that is a very good sign. I only check references on people I intend to give an offer to. :)
