To me, truth is that which is a constant. The only thing I can think of that is a truth is that every known thing is subject to the laws of physics. Therefore, seeking the truth means understanding how the laws of physics apply to a specific issue, emotion, idea, construct, object, being etc.

I think that telling the truth about things, gets people into less trouble, than telling lies. Knowing the truth about things, is better than just believing things, that might not be true.
