  • Not at all!! I think its crazy that their bringing him home. He signed up to fight for his country and thats what he should do... Can you imagine the reaction if a 'normal' soldier came up and said 'My Dad thinks I should come home because i'm better than the other soldiers'........ Prince Harry should stay put, fight for his country as he signed up for and the out come will be whatever it is. I'm not even from UK lol
  • I'm going to get slammed for this, but I think it is irresponsible for someone with such a high profile to there at all..... His very presence may encourage his unit to become a priority target, thusly putting his fellow troops in even greater danger. It's like painting a big ass bulls eye on his back and begging the enemy to "come and get him" What better way to try and force the hand of governments world wide and prove a point than to abduct--or even kill-- the grandson of the freakin' Queen of England???? Yes, he signed up, but he is NOT the average soldier. He never will be. He's a high profile target and may very well prove to cause far more harm than good.
  • I think so because as much as he wants to be just another soldier he's not and it would be to big a coup for al queda if they killed him
  • I think that YES, they probably should bring him home for one reason ... he and his unit just became THE trophy. I suspect every enemy soldier will be looking for him now. "Meg" is right, what better way for them to grab the attention of the world, than to possibly capture him, then do whatever they wish with him. BUT, I also believe that, him being a soldier, he will REFUSE to leave his fellow soldiers one minute earlier than any other soldier!
  • His presence unduly endangers others who serve with him.
  • If you take this discussion up a level, it becomes very interesting. Let's ask a very simple question: WHY should we care if Prince Harry gets killed/maimed/abducted/whatever? Yes, he's a famous member of the British Royal Family. But again I ask, WHY should we care? Is it because, as a Prince, his life is 'more valuable' than somebody else's? Now that's as anti-democratic a notion as you can imagine. Others might say "Because it would be a huge publicity coup for Al Qaeda/Taliban". Ok, let's work with that. If we're worried about the Bad Guys scoring a militarily insignificant publicity coup, doesn't that indicate that in this "war", publicity/public opinion is MORE important than military power? Think about that, why don't you?
  • NO I do not think he should be forced to leave his Unit. he is an Army Officer and should be with his men, which is exactly how he feels himself.
  • If I heard it right on the news he is. Caused a few comments this question didn't it? Trust a colonial cousin to spill the beans!!!
  • Let him stay. Just make sure that he doesn't serve on the front lines and give him a cushy office assignment instead so that he as others have mentioned, won't endanger the lives of others.
  • I would think so. Who is going to take the responsibility should something befall him? They can't afford to take this risk.
