    I live where the water is super hard, and to keep all that calcium out of my kidneys, first I boil it and pour it into a thermos. Most of the lime settles to the bottom while it cools. When it's cool I pour it into a big three gallon Katadyn filter, keeping back the lime. Then, to be absolutely safe, I throw out the water and drink beer.
