  • Some people may be that childish, I hope not, and never in my case :-)
  • Sometimes people flag for personal reasons, yes.
  • People should be entitled to their opinions. I would not flag down an answer just because I do not agree with the author of the opinion. But I might be inclined to downrate an answer or question if it is degrading, demeaning, badly intended or spiteful.
  • Could be from someone else...I'm an equal-opportunity flagger...I've only flagged 3 or 4 questions since I've been here...
  • I usually deserve it when I get flagged. I was half asleep in here at 3 AM and I typed one of those silly questions with the missing verb as my head was falling on the keyboard. I think the staffers are pretty careful about flagging anyone's question if the flagger is just being mean-spirited or biased.
  • None unless I am personally attacked. Then I hit back.
  • I've only flagged a question twice. Once it was removed and once it wasn't.
  • No, that's like saying cops use personal bias on the job. Ridiculous.
  • When I flag questions, I really don't care who posted them. I've even recategorized some of the questions posted by Rich and Joel themselves.
  • My criteria for flagging are: 1) is it an obvious trolling question (I flag all the q & a of trolls as well as report their profile), 2) is it bigoted (I do not flag opinion questions but I am certain longer time 'baggers know what I mean), 3) is it attacking another member, 4) is it nonsense (to the point where it makes no sense), 5) is it a clone of another user (I flag all q & a of a clone as well as report their profile) I will flag if I see that someone's questions have double posted, like I hope people would do for me.
  • It appears that some do, some just down-rate an answer (and they are probably kids or just mean), and some, like me, usually either just don't rate them. (And as for ANY of that being based on "personal bias" by me? NOPE... ALL based on the answer or question themselves. And I've NEVER done anything more than a downrate...)
  • There are cases where personal biases are involved. Remember, it is the moderator that decides which questions and answers should be rejected, and not to favor a person just because of personal reasons.
