  • No. I would call it a stupid question when it is so poorly worded nobody can figure out what is being asked.

Thank you. Definitely agree with the last part. Get the impression that some are merely statements where one is looking for support for their already definitive thoughts. And they never really learned how to phrase their "truths" as a inquiry to invite feedback -- which of course they don't want. if contrary to.
  • 8-22-2017 Yes, there are some stupid questions. But in most cases stupid questions are preferred to stupid mistakes.

Well -- with all due respect, that begs another question(?). Assuming mistakes are within bounds then, are ignorant questions -- as in being asked by one that has never had the chance to learn at least tolerable? If so, does not one have to make a personal judgement as to the naivete / education of the one making the inquiry? Reading this over it comes off as a bald-headed old man mouthing off -- but I think there is more to it. Thank you.

If ones decides a question being asked may be either "stupid" or asked out of ignorance, would not one have to make an assessment as to which it is -- if they cared?

I don't know what you are talking about. Maybe I have a stupid answer. That happens sometimes.
  • Nope. Only stupid people who can't tell the right time and way to frame a question.
