  • Basically, what people are referring to is the descent of the testes into the scrotal sack. This occurs soon after birth. What many people don't understand is that we all start out as females. Our gonads (and in your case, your testes) start out in the same position as ovaries. Then, they descend down in the abdomen and ultimately into the testes. If one or either of the testes do not make the descent into the scrotal sack, it becomes extremely important that this be treated. If the testes are left in the abdomen, then they have the potential of breaking down and becoming cancerous. If they are not brought down soon enough, then they can significantly impair your fertility and development. There are medications that can help; there' s something called beta HCG that has been advocated for this problem that seems to be somewhat effective. However, the most definitive treatment is surgery to bring the balls down.
