  • Sometimes, yes. Sometimes no. It depends on a lot of things. Sometimes I've written a serious answer on a topic I care about, and really want to engage with others in the comment thread. Then if two or more people turn it into a "how was your ham sandwich" conversation that goes on for 3 days, it is quite annoying. They've hijacked the thread to give themselves a convenient instant-messenger service, and lack the courtesy to see that they're doing it on my doorstep. But most hijacks of comment threads are welcome social activity -- it's just something people need to be aware of. If the answerer asks you to take it elsewhere, it's a good idea to do so.
  • I'm totally guilty of this, so it would be hard to say that I get annoyed, it usually brings me smiles and fits of laughter :)
  • No, I don't find it annoying at all. If it goes on too much, and I'm not interested, then I hit the unsubscribe button.
  • Nope...AB wouldn't be half as much fun without it..
  • No, I don't get annoyed. Nothing I am talking about is so profound and important that it needs silence to flourish. Friendly interaction seems to me to be a worthy use of space :)
  • Not at all, no. I love chatting with people an answerbag. I think making friends and getting to know people is part of this site's charm.
  • I find it entertaining.
