  • Practice, practice, practice. Practice in front of a mirror. Practice in front of family. Practice for friends. Practice your presentation until you know it by heart backwards and forward. It won't eliminate the stress but at least you will feel a little more comfortable when you give it because it will become second nature to you. Oh, and xanax helps too.
  • Picture everyone in the class with no clothes on. good luck!
  • practice it infront of the mirror, next among your friends, then your family.in 2 days you would be a pro.
  • Stand in front of the class, and when speaking looking just over the students heads, don't look at a individuals eye's or head. Concentrate towards the back of the class and your project. Speak in a loud clear voice, mark time with two fingers(this makes some comfortable) BTW, be suttle and don't make it obvious your are nervous. Last but not least, remember the students do not feed you, cloth you, put a roof over your head and they certainly can not shave your head and send you overseas. So their thoughts really have no bearing on the outcome of your presentation, only your teacher does. Do the best you can after all it is for you.
  • Personally, even though I consider myself a pretty engaging public speaker, I still get really nervous before I do any type of presentation. Take some time before you present and find a quiet corner and just take a couple of breaths. Nice and slow. It'll help you center yourself and gather your thoughts. It also helps to make sure you are as prepared as possible: have all of your materials and notes ready way ahead of time. You could also take a shot or two of my good old pal Jack Daniels, but since you are most definitely under 21, you'll have to just tough it out. Good Luck!
  • 'BE' the science fair project. Know your material & zone in on the demonstration so your audience is a 2nd thought. I had to do this a couple of weeks ago & felt the same way, but I found out everyone was so nervous about doing there's, they didn't care what I looked like or what I said. I ended up ace-ing it. Don't worry. You can do it.
  • you could present it as a slideshow... that way you need to look at the screen to see when to change it. and say your speech to the screen
  • Just an idea, practice in front of a friend in your class. then when presenting for real, present just to your friend and ignore everyone else, unless theres some questions of course.
  • I am not great with public speaking either and always get butterflies in my stomach beforehand. There is no way to prevent getting the jitters. Just believe in yourself, prepare good notes that you can rely on if your mind goes blank, and just before getting up to speak take deep breaths (breathing in from your nose and out through your mouth). My psychology teacher also helped me by teaching me this phrase to say which he has proven in clinical studies to help you calm yourself. As you take deep breaths, say to yourself "Sparkling eyes, smiling face, alert, amused mind, calm body." It has worked for me. I hope this helps. Good luck!
