  • I find the best way to really learn a language is to use it. Watch a Spanish television station to get a feel for pronunciation. If you can, use a friend from your class and practice actual conversations. The more practical exercises you can manage, the better a chane you have at learning and retaining the language. Good luck.
  • I have tutored a lot of students in Spanish, and honestly, it comes down to rote memorization. You just have to go over it and over it. Make vocabulary flash cards, write the words again and again, say them one sylable at a time, starting with the last sylable...for example. If you want to say "Yo quiero ir al centro contigo." (I want to go downtown with you.) Say it once the whole way through, then say "go", "tigo", "contigo", "tro contigo", "centro contigo" until you have said the whole phrase again. It seems weird, but it works. That's how we were taught in our Spanish phonetics classes in university.
  • You have done the most important thing already....you, asked for help! These answers are wonderful. Good luck.:)
  • I was taking a spanish class a few years ago and found that flash cards and studying with a friend helped tremendously.
