Depends on your definition of unusual. We always have Tamale pie on Christmas Eve
-
Not really. Hubby wants to do a roast instead of a turkey, so that and the sides will alter to go with the roast. A pretty typical meat and potatoes meal, I guess.

No not for us..its tradition all the way...bit boring for some but we love it :)

My husband cooks a special dish for each of us..... me,him, our son and daughter in law. I ask for lobster and shrimp every year. I am so looking forward to it.

I'd imagine it will be just like Thanksgiving dinner.

Our Christmas is a big family thing. Yeah, usually traditional and very much the same as Thanksgiving, except there is usually more varieties of meats and desserts. The gals all bring their own specialties. Nobody is ever missing any of their "favorite thing".

We have been invited to have Christmas lunch at the house of some friends, so I don't know what it will be, although I would bet on the full traditional turkey, roast potatoes, etc. We are providing the starters and pudding - home-made Christmas Pudding and a trifle. We have been talking for 6 years now about breaking with tradition and having a barbecue on the beach, but tradition always wins.
-
We are having traditional christmas salad, ham, prawns and cold beer. I save the turkey for christmas in July when the weather is colder is Australia.
-
