I never really do unless someone posts something very discriminating or otherwise offensive.
-
If it is a 'fact' type question, not an opinion one and the answer is wrong, maybe dangerously wrong, and it is the top answer, I will DR them and tell them why. But it so rarely comes up or if it does I usually hear from the person and they change their answer. But I don't go around punishing people for different opinions than I have or for spelling mistakes or grammar or duplicates. I'd rather just tell them about the dupe and not DR them. But not point them either.
-
Anything offensive to me.
-
If the question is offensive, should be on everybody's criteria. That's basically it.
-
Nothing. I just don't do it. I think it's wrong, cheap, shallow, petty, pathetic, and cowardly. If I disagree with someone, I just say so, and give them an equal chance to present their side. But I will NOT hurt someone else's standing in the community just because I disagree with what they type.
-
Offensive things including bad Language!
-
There is no bad question......you always learn something from asking and answering questions...as for the answers ill probably down grade them if there was no thought put in them
-
Very rarely do, everyone is entitled to their opinion and so I must respect that even if I do not agree. If the question or comment is offensive the flag button is protest enough
-
PMS. Bad day. Kids whining. Dog sick. Bills overdue. You name it and somebody is going to pay for it!
-
I don't downrate. I flag.
-
I rarely downrate. To be honest, I don't remember why I've downrated anyone.
-
You really got to offend me, and I have to be the first person to do it. If your already at -3 or something, I am not going to bother.
-
I have a few personal rules: 1. Congratulations questions and answers for any AB level less than Sage. 2. Caps lock 3. Spam 4. Incorrect use of the category system 5. Offensive behaviour 6. Nonsense 7. Duplicate questions 8. Being the first person to answer a question and answering it with "I dont know" or a similar pointless answer. I think there are a few more, ill get back to this if and when I remember them.
-
down-rate this, waste of time personally, if someone took time to find the keys on the board to answer my Q's they get my points no matter how righteous they might think they are.
-
I sometimes DR spam but my fave to to DR are the essential "Google it" and any that the person is asking or offering help on breaking the law.
-
the only times I D/R is if its a yahoo troll stiring up shit or some fool saying total lies about other AB members or scum that hijack other ABers avatars and names and post crap... but I ALWAYS leave a comment as to why I have D/R'd them and they are never left wondering why
-
The kind of answer that is obvious why it's down rated and it doesn't take a genius to figure out why. I rarely ever down rate, but I have down rated in the past. The questions/answers deserved it, except for the down rates I did by accident. I fix those errors ASAP, though.
-
I do it if the question or answer is ignorant. Or to help a fellow A/B'er who is being messed with, for no reason!!!
-
I have only downrated answers that give people in pain advice on how to successfully commit suicide.
-
I don't down rate. If I disagree with something, but find it a thoughtful answer, I give points. If I disagree and find the answer curt, rude, or generally offensive, I ignore it or leave a comment. Down rating is not part of my mentality when using AB.
