  • I would say so but it doesn't seem to work that way for some reason. :-(
  • I used to live with two men in an apartment, and we would take turns... Sometimes I would lift it up and they would sometimes put it down.
  • Women 'go' twice as often as men do, so the woman is just as likely to be the next user of the facility. Why should she put the seat up for herself? A better solution is to each have your own 'primary' bathroom, if your house has more than one.
  • I think normally it's proper to return the toilet to a fully closed position after using it. This means you should put down both the seat and the lid. Etiquette would say that it is in poor taste to leave the hole you pee and poop in gaping wide open. However, if you aren't so proper then I don't see why you should have to adjust the seat after you use it. In my opinion, it is each person's responsibility to adjust it BEFORE they use it.
  • The problem with having to touch the seat, especially the underside, is the mess and filth that the men i have shared toilets with, make. I need rubber gloves and disinfectant to touch it at all.
  • sounds like its only fair, i always put it back when i do remember which is 90% of the time, the 10% were those absentminded days or i was rushing to do something else.
