  • Depends on the boy. Some choose to get in one or two years before they turn 19. Others wait until they return from their missionary service before enrolling in any school. Others will finish an undergraduate degree and then go on a mission. Actually, the latter option often produces more mature and dedicated missionaries with a little more life experience than most 19 year old missionaries. [Added in response to Elder Gibby] In all actuality, I indeed already have a life. Interestingly enough, I have had one for a substantial period of time now. What I find mildly amusing is that a teenager somehow considers himself to be some sort of an authority on whether someone has a life or not.
  • Seems to me that he'd be better off doing his university course first, or a tech course, or work a couple of years or so. He'd have a bit more experience of life and of human nature by then.
  • My husband was home schooled through high school so he could finish early enough to get some college in before he left when we were 19.
  • I served a mission first. some people get some college in first. some complete college... it all depends on the individual.
