I have a 1975 Rickenbacker 483 electric guitar, that I've been promising myself I'd learn how to play since I bought it in 1985. Still can't, though ;).

I have a roll top desk over 60 years old, hand crafted by my grandfather.
I have a houseful of antiques. The oldest is a key from the 1300's up to my desk from 1900.
I have good amount of furniture from the early to mid 1800's (yes I use the furniture), a rather frightening collection of pharmacopia (the more toxic they better and some have part of their original contents) and quack small medical devices from the 1800's to early 1900's, miscellany like antique bridle rosettes, odd tin railroad cups from the 1800s, and much much more.
My collection of pharmecopia and odd quack medical devices, some of being known to be highly dangerous today, is my "how the HELL did we make it out of the 1800's alive" collection.
I have a set of handkerchiefs, one monogrammed for me. They are about 50 years old... I do not know if that is an antique.
I have two Rromani bags (I am Rromani) that were pulled out of a museum in Romania to give to me (it is a Rromani run museum and they gave them to me because two like them were stolen from me when I was 18... they had been my fathers) and I have no clue how old they are but they are over 50. They are from my grandparent's era and younger Rromani or even my parent's generation did not carry bags like that. One of the bags I lost came down to my father from his grandmother and the other to my mother through one of her grandparents. The Rrom heard my story, my description of the bags, and pulled these out of the museum to give to me.
Many things, I collect antique Porcelain Figurines, Books, Coins, which I have Roman coins , old( not worth a lot) but I have coins 4/500 years old in very good condition.
many things... lots of antiques
I have my grandmothers sewing machine which by the way still works.
The only thing I can think of would be a picture...I have pictures that are over 20 years old but that's it.
Three Lionel Train engines. A 1941 Army switch engine, a 1948 Praire Steam Engine and a 1958 Sante Fe Deisel
I have my Grandfathers Blackthorn Walking Stick. It's got to be over one hundred and twenty years old - and the rumours are that in his day he cracked a few heads with it in the wilds of Ireland : )
My favorite 20 year old item is this photo of my wife and myself dressed up as Civil War era people.

Yes I have things that were my grandma and grandpa's, i had more but in my younger years did some dumb things and don't have them anymore...i am thankful i still have some things though! they are irreplaceable!
a set of corduroy chairs from the early 70's given to me by my parents
antiques, postal cards, books, wines.
Oddly enough there is a graveyard in my back yard. It is an English family burial ground from the 1700 and 1800's. As kids we dug up alot of really old medicine bottles in the yard and we have found a few other things such as keys and even a wooden doll. The people buried there used to own the land and the house I live in now.
Yes my baby bottle its 39 years old its a glass pyrex one :)
Many things - my lawyer's bookcase is 107 years old, my buffet is 120 years old, my rocking chair is 70, my clothes valet is 60 years old, my china and crystal are 95 years old, my grandmother's wedding dress is 95, my mother's letters and her journal are over 30, and many of my baseball cards are from the 30s and 40s.
In my living room, I have a bookcase that my step-grandfather built in the 1920's. It's still as solid as a rock and there's no amount of money I would take for it.
I have things that are hundreds of years old and some that are close and approaching 100.
My baby grand piano for one. 1902
The NES was first released in 1985, but the one I have was made in 1988.
sure I got my baby pictures :)
Yep...Got a ref that's 29 years old and still working, but with a few problems from time to time.
Yes, jewelry, African Art, paintings, Things from my grandparents, 69 Vette, some antique furniture and a shotgun from Belgium that I had restored! I am sure there is more but I just got up Chief! Have a great 4TH! + 5, Best, Jonathan
Nearly everything I own is a hand-me-down from either my mom or my grandparents, so yeah, most of it. The chair in my living room was purchased by my grandmother for her first house just before her wedding, which I believe was in 1936. The Welsh Cupboard in the kitchen was built by my great-grandfather for their wedding present. My blanket chest was a hand-me-down from my grandmother. I think she bought it well used, but the hinges date it to middle 1800s, maybe earlier. I wish she hadn't refinished it. One of our dressers is a cheap waterfall dresser from the Depression. I'm guessing my great-grandfather probably made my drop leaf table. None of it is very valuable, but it is all old.
I have the very first toy I ever received. It is a little plaid, stuffed toy dog my father gave me when I was three days old. Since I am now 56, I guess that would qualify!
I also have stuff older than that, handed down to me from generations past, but this little dog is the only thing that was purchased new, and for me, that is older than 40 years.....
Family heirlooms and pictures.....
Some bologna slices in my refrigerator, I believe...
Photographs and books.
Yes my wife has royal doulton that is over 70 years old.
The house itself is over 40 years old. Does that count?
yep... a few things... most prized...
old pedal sewing machine... more than 50 yrs old... it was my grandmaw's 1st one that my grandpaw bought for her when they were first married...
I am only 27, but I do have two things that are older than me, LOL!
I have a 1930's Maytag Washing Machine engine & a 1970's telephone I found at a junk yard.

yah I have some comic books from the 60's and 70's as well as an electric Martin guitar thats at least 20 years old, they don't even make electric Martins anymore as far as I know.
I also have some vintage action figures left over from my childhood I keep put away for some weird nostalgic reason and I also have a closet full of artwork I have done from the time I was like 9 yrs old up till works I produce now. And of course some old cassette tapes even though I don't have anything to play them on and some records.
Yeah my dad.
He's my living here for like 40 years. haha
My tv stand. Its really more of a coffee table that my father made in his high school shop class. Better than any furniture you can buy today!
Tons. I am a collector of militaria and firearms, as well as a re-enactor. Gtravels has a bunch of stuff, too, including a 1950's model Blaupunkt radio.
Yes, I do. I'm gonna take them to the antique mall this weekend and let them sell them for me.
Besides all of the old Hollywood items I have from the 30s and 40s and and some very old editions of books, 1880s through the 20s.
---What I am most proudest of, however, is a thermal henley and a pair of running pants that I bought 31yrs ago (I was 12) and I still have them and they are both in pretty good shape.
Well the Henley could use a little cuff work:)
um my blanket.
I have a first edition copy of Alexander Pope's collected works from 1717. I also have a writing chest from the mid eighteenth century. Tons of other stuff, but those are the oldest.

I have two cupboards made in 1906.
Aside from my house... some old WWII medals that were given to my grandfather... and a few coins & baseball cards here and there.
A Victorian photo album with family photos in it; two diaries written by my great great grandfather (not the originals but old copies); three dolls passed down to me; three sewing machines that I picked up for no particular reason but they were being thrown out and I thought they were interesting; and I think my lounge suite comes into that category - lol

i have a one hundred year old cane, my piano, a few guitars, some 50 year old port and most of my chess sets are more that thirty years old
Our microwave.
Lots of stuff. Aquariums, computer, sewing machine, a guitar I've had since 1963, and a toy rubber fire engine with toothmarks on the tires. I must have done that about 1958. Sadly, it's the only toy I had that survived to this day.
my father's shirts and some books
yes stamps, cards, toys
Yes, a lot of things. Mostly hand-me-downs from my parents, like old record players and albums, furniture, etc.
My favorite though is an antique hookah that was apparently my great-grandmother's. She used to smoke flavored tobacco out of it. I found it when I was living in my grandmother's house, and when the house got sold and I had to move out, I took it with me.
what do the markings inside my old coin purse mean?? there is a J on the inside of the opening and III'1 on oposite end.Just curious.

Hey! How old are you, anyway? I thought you were 30!
by PrettyPirate on April 23rd, 2008
You're very kind as always...I'm 42 ;)
by AB-Rich on April 23rd, 2008
No way. You do not look 42. Not that 42 is old, of course. http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/2814629 ;)
by PrettyPirate on April 23rd, 2008
Yup, born in 1966--unless my mom falsified my birth certificate ;)
by AB-Rich on April 23rd, 2008
And that's your guitar? It's a beauty. You should learn, so you can serenade the ladies with your own songs :)
by PrettyPirate on April 23rd, 2008
My guitar writes checks my musical talent can't cash ;)
by AB-Rich on April 23rd, 2008
Now that's just kinky. We have to stop meeting up like this ;)
by PrettyPirate on April 23rd, 2008
One day you are going to bite that bullet and learn how to play..I'm sure you'll excel at it..you can entertain your friends and wow the ladies! :)
by RosieGHM Jetpacker on April 23rd, 2008
One more thing..mom's don't falsify birth records unless they have something deep, dark and sad to hide. If your mom is an "open book", rest assured you're 42! :)

Rich, it's a sin to own such a nice set of strings just to let it sit. You were probably trying to teach yourself to play? You owe it to yourself, treat yourself to some guitar LESSONS!
