Oh always! I feel like it's gonna be my last day each time I experience that in the airplane. That's one thing I will never ever get used to.
-
Yes. I hyperventilate and look around to see if the other passengers are getting nervous. Last time I flew when the plane finally landed the lady in the next isle gave me advice on how to calm myself down.
-
Yeah...I get nervous whenever I'm on a plane, no matter how smooth the flight is. Flying blows.
-
Pardon my French but as the Sunni said, I get scared Shiiteless: drink please.
-
Not really. I did once years ago, and when the plan landed without tires, I pretty much figured, "so this is it". Ever since then, I've learned to accept that what is going to happen will happen.

I can't help but chuckle to myself when folks talk about the fears of turbulence. Heres a pilots perspective: I worry about turbulence in the same way a bus driver worries about a bumpy road or in the way that a cruise ship captain worries about waves. Turbulence is one thing: wind. Thats absolutely it, it is patches of rough air. However, accept this comfort, the vertical displacement is rarely more than 30 or 40 feet. Commercial airliners are made to run through a lifetime of turbulence. The nature of the aircraft gives it a constant pull to return to balanced flight even during pilot initiated manuevers. I rarely even have recollections of turbulence, sometimes not even noticing it if its just a few bumps. Its sort of like driving on the highway, every so often you hit a little bump before a bridge, but do you remember it after you arrive at home? A passenger from a flight I had just flown happened to be still near the gate when I walked off and he came up to me and said, "wow, that sure was a bumpy flight!" I joked with him for a few moments and walked away trying to remember how much turbulence we encountered.

No not at all , I love flying.
-
Nah, it's just a little wind. I'm not scared of wind on the ground, I'm not scared of wind in the air. The only thing I've gotten is a bit wet when I tried to drink my coke from a cup at the wrong time, and the whole plane dropped suddenly in a particularly bad bit of turbulence during dinner time. That is what napkins are for. Actually, riding in cars makes me a LOT more nervous than flying ever does.

Last time I flew on a plane (which was also the second time) was on a small airplane (maybe 50 passenger or something) so the turbulence was really noticable, and it was also raining. I was almost laughing when we hit it. It was fun. I would have laughed more but I was sitting beside some business man that wanted to get home. I didn't really feel like bothering him.

I get nervous when I'm on a plane at all.
-
No. I did on my first flight, after that I thought it was fun for a while, now I just find it annoying.
-
Hey....I'm typing this from a airplane.....It pretty scary/..
-
I only get nervous during turbulence when it's REALLY bad, or when I'm the one at the yoke.
-
No, I have flown enough to be used to it. I just secure my drink or try to go back to sleep.
-
Nervous......as hell.
-
Only in very small aircraft, and only because I'm not used to it ; ) In like, a 747 or something the turbulence is no problem for me, but I was once in a very small plane - maybe 10 seats, propeller driven - and it suddenly lurched downwards about 5 feet in less than a second, then up again from turbulence : D Not very nice, lol : P
-
Yes...and I worked for an airline for 31 years...
-
No, I don't mind it
-
Nope. I slow my airspeed.
-
Neither. If something were to go wrong, it would very likely be a fast and painless death, so what is to be afraid of?
-
No, I sort of like it, and I trust the pilot.
-
Actually, as odd as it may seen... If I'm on a comercial flight and I don't feel CAT (Clear Air Turbulnace) I get nervous.....
-
I think it's great. I love looking out the windows at the wings flapping around.
-
YES..when the plane is going sideways i know that is not good..:)
-
NOPE. I love flying, and I just figure that turbulence is part of the deal sometimes.
-
no because i have never been on a airplane
