  • they believe the messiah is still to come but im not sure about the virgin.
  • No, we don't.
  • I'm not Jewish, but I think Isaiah 7:14 from the old testament says he'll be born to a virgin? "Therefore the Lord himself will give you this sign: the virgin shall be with child, and bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel." (New American Bible)
  • No. The Jewish religion has no such belief in a virgin birth. The word for virginity would be "betulah". The world "almah" is simply a young woman. In fact, a child born of a virgin birth would likely be considered a bastard child and having lower standing in Jewish traditions.
  • No. Infact they believe that the Messiah will be like Moses and Moses was not born from a virgin. As for Isaiah 7:14. When read in context and out of the best translated bible namely the King James. It means that the Messiah will be brought forth out of a virgin generation( a generation that has not yet witnessed God's wonders).
  • The Messiah had to be born of a virgin, because the seed of man is contaminated by sin. We needed someone that was not from the seed of man..perfect, to be able to save us from our sins. A sinner can not cleanse the sin of other siners, and the Bible say's there is none Righteous, so the Son of God had to come and be our perfect sacrifice for our sins.
  • Every man on Earth is a sinner. Therefore, the Messiah had to come from God, Himself.
  • On another note, ChabadRabbi mentioned "Perhaps the miracle of the Messiah will be that he is created by G-d, as Adam." The Messiah is not a created being. The Messiah is God's Son. Genesis 1:26 say's "Then God said, "Let US make man in Our image, according to Our likeness." Who is the "US" that God is refering to? He can not be refering to the Angels, because the Angels could not create man. He is refering to His Son, and the Holy Spirit. The only one that could Redeem us from our sins, would be one without sin. Jesus Christ is the only human born into this world that was without sin. That is why He can ultimate Redeem us, and be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. We have no other need of any more sacrifice, as Christ has paid our debt in full
  • Yes...the Messianic Jews, or the Jews who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Messiah believe that He was born of a virgin.
  • The Messiah did NOT have to be born of a virgin!! Christians are feeding you baseless claims. Well, I won't say baseless, they technically have a base. But their base rests upon a mistranslation. And when that didn't work out, they chose to twist what is not even a prophecy in another verse. Don't listen to them. Look up for yourself and hear both sides of the argument. Jewish argument is better (in my opinion) versus the Christian argument on nearly all fields. And that is why I am no longer a Christian.
  • I want to appologise, for some of these people. This is a question about the Jewish faith. Not the Christian faith. Once agin my appologies for the lack of respect.
