  • Great question. Sorry I missed it back when it was asked. This is good news for the future of America. The Church indeed has an image problem. It would seem to be a positive thing whether it's resolved by the church becoming less high-handed or less relevant should it choose not to do the former.
  • I think the answer is clear from not only your question but also more of the church's history. Just look at the catholic church and the crucades. They believe many things I do, yet killed alot of people in the name of God. A great deal of christians today try to earn their way into heaven and critisize others for failing to live by the rules, while all along 'earning' has nothing to do with it, and to christians the rules no longer apply as law, but as guide. And at the same time many christians rebuke all those speaking in tongues or casting out demons asif those christians themselves were satanic. I think there is no doubt at all the church has a big image problem :P
  • It's the age group not the image of Christianity. I've been a volunteer in church youth work for 25 years and there is a pattern that all of us recognize. As soon as a kid got their first job or car at 16 we used to joke about not seeing them again for another 16 years. That is because their focus changes at that age to material things, responsibility at work and hanging with friends. Then they are off to college where they get inundated with liberal philosophies and new experiences that are less than Godly. After that they are starting a career, but once the family and kids get going they are right back in the pew where they started. The Bible says if you raise a child up in the Lord, there will be a period of rebellion but they always return. I've talked to other people in youth work and the pattern seems to be true across the board, so the poll does worry me.
  • its the age group.....the parents of the groups were irresponsible in their Spiritual Responsiblity's....this group 'inherited' from their upbringing/parents....they are products of the 60's era ...hippie era and women's lib.....a breakdown in family and spiritual family RESPONSIBILITY.... parents and families have the "image problem"...but they give 'christianity ' the 'bad' image...:)BLAME where it really lies...and the Blame is really in the moral and ethics breakdown....even unspiritual have 'standards' in morals and ethics..children LEARN what they are TAUGHT... thats why we have so many sociopaths/victims of upbringing...they know NO BETTER than what they lived in and were TAUGHT...:)
