Same as every other muscle: soreness. It was explained to me like this: You work out one muscle set a day, 5 sets of 10 reps, fast on the up, slow on the down count of four seconds. The best thing to do is get a bar or something that forces you to have the right form; trust me, if you aren't doing the right form, you wont get anywhere very quickly. Make sure to be eating right too; I try to get in 120 grams of protein in a day (powerbar, muscle milk etc).
