It is all to do with public image. They use whatever means necesary, be it defaming the opposite party, to portray themselves in a good light. Admitting that they aren't perfect and drawing atention to this fact would leesen, if possible, the publics opinion about them.

both sides annoy me. What with all of the issues of the day, illegal immigration, the meth epidemic, the high rate of young men filling up our prison system, aids, the need for better welfare reform, etc why in the heck would anyone care? I felt very sorry for Monica Lewinsky, Bill and Hill, this guy Craig and all them who have been judged by their private parts. Their privates don't have anything to do with their job performance unless children, gold fish or other beasts are being molested. We need to butt out and try to work together as close to one party as can be expected of different beliefs.

The GOP quietly let Craig know that his career was over. Re Hill, I think about if the situation was reversed. If a male presidential candidate's wife had been publicly humiliated by numerous affairs over & over. How would he be perceived? Frankly, I wouldn't have the nerve to run for any elected office under those circumstances. Go figure.

For the same reason when someone we don't care for does something wrong and we are quick to slam them, but if was a good friend or family member we kinda keep it under our hats. It is all about image. The dems point out Rep flaws just as loud as Rep's point out Dem's flaws. They are batteling for political control and it is largely based on image. Wouldn't it be a great world if we could all just get a long and do the right thing?

NOt remotely defending Craig, I will say that I slam Hillary all the time, and it is not for standing by her husband. Policies, etc., are fair game, personal crap, another matter. Certainly Craig should resign, but on the same token, there are many others in COngress who should too, over much greater issues and on both sides of the aisle. I think as Americans we should make a collective effort to clean house with the rats in both parties who are either sexual deviants, money bleeding pigs, or seditious or even treasonous rats. It would benefit all of us to have at least people who are trying to be honest instead of just being dishonest and telling us to put up with it.

The Grand Old Party admits nothing until one of their own is caught, then they do everything possible to cover-up or distance themselves from him. Another example is that of congressman Mark Foley, he was discovered to have sent sexually explicit internet messages to teen boys, with current and former congressional pages. Rather than expose him, Republican leaders inexplicably instead chose to cover up the allegations for nearly a year. This indicates a more horrible pattern of behavior. As with the hypocrisy of Larry Craig himself, so does the hypocrisy and selective memory of the Republican party reflect poorly upon the Republican party as a whole.

It is all a mess, where has our morals gone? Slam a women because she stayed with her husband after he has had numerous affairs, slam him, but why should you slam her. That is her business. Slam her for her views on political policies, but leave her private life alone. She at least is an american and supports America.

Bill lied to the American public. Craig is a typical politician who got caught red-handed in the community cookie jar but Hillary stayed together to spare a public divorce so she could run for President in '08. This was a planned strategy. These two are puppet politicians now living a sham marital arrangement. Edwards is a liar and philanderer who also lied to the American public on national T.V. while his wife has terminal cancer. Look at the demo-NY governor scandal...., the demo-Chandra Levy disappearance, do we need to continue? Why don't the democrats police their own party members with some ethics and morality standards?

that's a woman's personal choice but she didn't 'stand by her man' because she wanted to ....it would have not been good for power and political struggle,climb...had she not 'stood by her man'....and of course she took no BLAME for her husbands 'wickedness'...she's just as wicked and domineering......he could of least had a little more respect for his POSITION , in the white house , right under wife, child's and EVERYONE's nose....of course you still can't give much 'character' Lewinsky either.....it just shows how and what a 'slick ,evasive,lying and deceptive, yet EMPTY personality' a CHARMING ,CHARMER,CHARISMATIC person IS......... Bill's SCANDAL topped all the presidents ....and showed the WORLD what a small MAN we had...for a LEADER....he thought totally with the WRONG head....and EMPTY headed a leader and coc as Obama (Barry)....i just wait for the day the Larry and Barry SCANDAL , along with the 3 killed from his 'black liberation theology ' church is finally GOT TO THE ROOTS...
