Teach him to fight back.

If I had a boy and I thought he was being picked on I would have him take up a sport so he could feel good about himself. If he still had issues I would take him to the family doctor and wait for advise from doctor. I would be sure to listen to the childs fears and see if he had unfounded fears or fears that need a psychiatric evaluation.

Yes, sports, fight back, my kids went through karate classes.

Every kid gets picked on! To keep it to a minimum teach them self-confidence by finding activities he enjoys and does well. Sports especially will be good as most times that will help with physical ability, my boys take karate.

I really have to chime in my vote for karate. I was picked on for many years, and it really helped me through it. It wasn't so much the ablility to physically defend myself, but to keep me grounded and secure mentally. That's a much bigger asset than anything else. And of course, he will make friends there. All types of people take it and we all get along really well. Now I am no longer picked on, and I have more friends there than I do in school. And in time, he will have an great accomplishment there in addition to everything else. I myself am almost ready to test for a third degree black belt.
