US A/Bers. Do you own a gun? Does it make you feel safe? and have you ever fired it? If so, what at?

I do not own a gun. If I did it might make me feel safe. I am not sure. But I do think people should be allowed to have guns if they so choose. of course only if they obtain them legally and use them responsibly.

Yes, I do own a gun, and it does make me feel safe. Of course I have practiced with it, the only thing besides a target, I shot a snake one day. That's really all I keep it for.

I use to have many guns, but no I would not say they made me feel safe. I use to hunt and have killed deer, turkey etc... for the purpose of food. I have shot two people (not proud of that fact) But only because they were shooting at me. I no longer have a gun (personal choice).

I do not own a gun because I'm...errrr, let's just say excitable. The situation would arise when I would need said gun, I'd whip it out and shoot myself by accident.

Yes, I own a gun. It doesn't necessarily make me feel safe, it just makes me feel better I know how to use it if I need to. I have only fired at targets so far, I used to go hunting with my Dad but I wasn't at an age I was actively hunting the deer.

Yes I have a gun. I live in an isolated area, my husband is an over the road trucker and is gone most of the time. Yes it makes me feel safer than I felt before I got it. I try to go out at least once a week and kill soda cans, beer cans and pine cones.

I'm Australian, and there are times where I really wish I could get my hands on one. It would be so less dramatic than dropping off a building.

I have an air gun and an air pistol. They fire pellets and BB's. I have shot and killed squirrels (rodents with bushy tails). I also shoot nuisance birds - we had a flock of buzzards hanging around in the spring, bringing their kills onto our property and scaring native wildlife and crapping all over the place. One death and they left. The air gun has no effect on my safety, as it would be quite unlikely to stop anything bigger than a possum.
