Sheesh, thats a hard one, but im a wimp so i think i would keep my mouth shut as i wouldnt want to end up in deep doodoo. In all honesty the best thing would be to tell your sister and face up to the consequences of what happens if the brother in law spills the beans about you, but like i said im a wimp! sorry.. but thats the truth of the matter...

Blackmail is illegal. Unless what he has on you would be absolutely devestating, I think you're obligated to tell your sister. You do NOT want to be around this man, so telling your sister would be the first step to distancing yourself from him.

got to decide what's more important, your sister or keeping your ass out of hot water. you obviously screwed up somewhere and don't want people to know it, but that doesn't mean you should keep your mouth shut and let a man use your sister.

It would depend on how dark my secret is if its something i really dont want people to know then i would keep my mouth shut but,on the other hand if it wasnt that bad i would be on the phone to my sis like a shot selfish i know but its a look after number one situation.

Now would be a great time to clean your own closet so he has nothing on you then force him to clean his. Blood relations are hard to keep once the bond is broken because we look to family to be understanding but we also expect more from them when it comes to loyality from outsiders. Dark things will find a way of becoming lighter in time.

He hasn't got any dirt on me and once I'd finished smacking him round the head I'd drag him to her and make him tell her. My sister's been hurt once before like that and the next immature, selfish, self-serving, arrogant bastard that tries it will answer to me first.

Tell my sister but let her know that I'd prefer not to let the husband know where it came from, and figure out with her a way to set him up to where she catches him and it looks like coincidence.

Unless you are the one he's cheating with..... I would face up to my dirt like you expect him to face up to his. The betrayal you are worried about your sister experiencing may be similar to the betrayal others will feel when you air your laundry, but at least you would be free and clean of it. I have always told others that if it is something that they can't tell their spouse, they shouldn't be telling me. Sorry, had to say it like it is.

Tell her. She is your sister. You owe it to her to tell her the truth no matter how much it might hurt you. You will feel better not having that secret inside you. Tell her.
