I have heard that ,when a bell rings an angel gets his/her wings.Where and when did this folklore originate and begin?

I'm not sure. I haven't heard of that.now that i have though i'm curious as well. .. -Just to add some info, I have also heard that when you hear actual bells or you hear a ringing or bell noise in your ear, it is the angels reminding you that they are there for you. I personally believe that. -by the way interesting question ~Do you have an interest in the angel topic?

Pardon my rationalism but Angels, by definition, are spiritual, that in non-corporeal, non-pyhsical so they have no wngs and nowhere to atach them if they had! Bells ringing are called the Vox Dei," Voice of God becaue they were the alarm clocks, beepers and buzzers for the rhythm oflife inside the monastery to call the monks from sleep or work to prayer and the area farmers or nearby townsfolk from home and field to pray. Angels are given human form ( three coming to see Abraham in disguise as men) Raphael to Tobit, Gabriel as messenger to mary, using human language to extend an knvitaiton to her to become God's Mother. Genuine stories of angels are faith-building, one has to avoid skepticism about non-beleif and exaggeration which leavs no room for faith, testing, doubt or dealing with "THE UNSEEN GOD."
