Paedolphile Catholic priests or any other paedophile have one thing in common, they cannot relate to adult sex, and feel the need to control. The power over a child sublimates their lack of adequacy when dealing with an adult who can challenge them in any way.

They can never be allowed to have any sort of sex. So this question is totally uncalled for. Better ask reasonable questions that will be of need to people's interest.

Back about a 1000 years ago when Catholic priests had mulitable wives and numerous mistresses they did not have these problems. Because the male offspring of these priests could inherit from the Catholic they were all deemed illegitamte. To stop it all, I believe it was Pope Gregory in 1039 made all priests celibate. This web site will explain it more fully if you care to read it: http://www.patriarchywebsite.com/monogamy/mono-history.htm

No. According to mental health professionals, pedophilia is connected to neither celibacy nor homosexuality. This very small group of child molesters would be just as sick or evil whether or not they had taken a vow of celibacy. For more information, see "10 Myths about Priestly Pedophilia": http://www.catholiceducation.org/articles/facts/fm0011.html With love in Christ.

I doubt it. I have heard about a few priests from here and there being accused of paedophilia, but do you know how many teachers get convicted? In Ontario, the College of Teachers website keeps the "blue pages" on trials of teachers and it's amazing how many there are in just one Canadian province over the last 10 years. Imagine what it would be like if we looked at all teachers across North America and included hearings earlier than 1998. The point is, that reported cases of teacher paedophiles dwarfs cases of preist paedophiles and teachers are not forced to be celibate. Probably. If nothing else, it may remove the temptation and attraction of such people to the pulpit

No. Because pedophilia is not about sex it is about power. Research on the priest abuse scandal by the John Jay College shows that priests are actually a group with a lower offender rate than the general population. Most pedophilia happens between offenders and victims that are family related and many pedophiles are married. People need to research this issue to understand, that this is not a celibacy issue. You can marry off every catholic priest and mandate they have sex with their wives every night and a pedophile will still leave his wife's bed and attack a child. Celibacy is the red herring in this issue.

I think that this link should shed some light on your question. The statistics actually show more protestant ministers have problems with sexual abuse than catholic priests do. I think that it is sad that there is any abuse at all and that all congregations should work to bring the number of abuse cases a year down. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,286153,00.html

I don't understand why Catholics want let those poor fellas marry anyway. There is no rule against it in the Bible.

a pedos a pedo full fukin stop dont matter wat job h deos so even if you let them have sex there would still be pedo preist
-
no. pedophilia has nothing to do with having sex with a adult . it has everything to do with the pedo having sex with a child. which is sick and wrong on so many levels.
-
I think it is a bit deeper than that - and involves the church's attitude toward sex and sexuality in general.
