  • I only subscribe to special interest pubs with educational articles, recipes and 'How to' guides, so I tend to hang on to them for a long time.
  • Until the new issue comes along.
  • No longer than a week. I have at least 5-6 magazine subscriptions and my husband has at least 4. Cuts down on the clutter.
  • As far as I can tell, for all of eternity (Although it kind of depends on which magazine it is). I used to have subscriction to National Geographic that I got from a rather eccentric friend of the family for my 7th birthday, and I still have those magazines, more than half a decade old now, packed away in a box next to my bed.
  • I only get subs that I really want. So I keep the mags if the information is current or useful. That means usually forever, all sorted to date and some with post-its on them to say what's inside to be able to find easily.
  • So far, I haven't gotten rid of them. I like looking back and reading the articles every so often. It's such a waste to instantly throw them away...
  • All mags go out to recycle when the next month's copy arrives. The only exceptions are Sunset and Cooking Light. I keep those for 1 year, go thru them for anything I really want to keep and then they go. I take them to a local senior citizen home where they enjoy reading them, no matter how old, and also use them to make cards, collages, etc.
