  • Who determines what words, verses or even books are “inspired by God”. There are indeed numerous versions of the Bible. Published in 1582 the Roman Catholic Version (RCV) is probably the oldest version around. However, the most widely distributed and translated is the King James Version (KJV) of the Protestant Bible. This version was published in 1611 but it has seven less Books than the RCV. We also know that there were hundreds of versions of the Gospels about, but the church selected four of these for inclusion in the Bible. Millions today literally swear by the KJV and regard every word of it to be divinely inspired "yet the King James Version HAS GRAVE DEFECTS". This is not the opinion of any layman but the considered conclusion of Christian scholars themselves, highly qualified Doctors of Divinity. What’s more these are not just a few minor errors here and there but "these DEFECTS ARE SO MANY AND SO SERIOUS as to call for revision . . ." Some reports put the number of errors found by Bible students at 50,000! Here are some examples: If you ever wondered why many clergy do not believe in the virgin birth while most of their congregations do then look at the revision of the KJV called the Revised Standard Version (RSV). Whereas in your KJV Isaiah 7:14 says “a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son” in the RSV it says “a young woman shall conceive, and bear a son” which renders a correct translation of the Hebrew word used. In your copy of the KJV John 3:16 most probably says “his only BEGOTTEN son” while in the RSV it would be “his only son” as the word BEGOTTEN was deleted because it was discovered to be a forgery. In every copy of the KJV 1 John 5:7 declares "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the FATHER, the WORD, and the HOLY GHOST: and these three are one." This has been discovered to be a forgery and has been deleted. Another correction concerns the ascension. This appears only in Mark 16:19 and Luke 24:51. These have been discovered to be additions.
