  • I cut the watermelon open, then use an ice cream scoop to make lots of watermelon balls. I put all the scoops in a couple of large bowls. I cover the bowls with plastic grocery bags to keep the air out. Then into the refrigerator they go. I put the watermelon rinds in a trash bag & immediately put them outside where they sit until trash day.
  • It depends how much I plan on eating. Most of the time, I cut one half at a time. I cut it in half and either cut them into cubes or scoop them out with a scooper. The other half I store in the refrigerator with a plastic wrap over the exposed end.
  • We love watermelon so we usually buy a big one and I cut in half to be able to manage it, remove rind and cut up meat of watermelon in chunks and place in gal. size zip lock bags to keep fresh. I do both half's as it will last a week this way in refrigerator. I also do other type of melons this way also. saves time for snacks or for serving at a meal.
  • I cut it in half long ways. then cut half circles about 2" thick sometimes I cut those in half so I have quarters. What I don't use I wrap in plastic wrap.
