i think they should be able to teach the idea or the concept of the belief. but not preach it.
-
I don't think that they should be able to teach anything that has to do with religion. Different strokes for different folks, right? Besides, people who want their children to be taught religion, send them to private school. My son goes to christian school
-
Yes the Bible should be allowed to be taught just as other literature. In fact, it was taught years ago in public schools. I understand that we may shortly see it returned to the school room.
-
Religion should certainly not be excluded from education, however this is a fine line...how do you make legislation that allows and objective teaching of religion so that religiosos, which are numerous, dont use the new law to turn public school into a recruiting center...furthermore, even if you do make the perfect legislation, there is no such thing as true objectivity.

I dont think that it should be taught in public schools, "that's why god created private schools" lol :)
-
Yes, I think they should be allowed to teach it. It is nothing bad.
-
It's actually a really interesting book. It's not even religious!
-
Of course. I went to a private school but not really an overly religious one. We had a bible-lit class. In that class there were christians jews and indians(not native americans, real indians). What of it?
-
Sure, so long as athiests get equal time to expound on their beliefs.
-
As a piece of literature? No reason why not, as long as it is treated in the same way as other pieces of literature, in that the authors are open to criticism for their views.
-
When you say taught, I think not.It is to large a book to be taught in school. If people want to learn about it they can always join a church and go to Bible Studies.
-
It should be taught at church. By all means don't leave your kids alone with the preacher. All teachers have to have background checks and some of them are bad news. All church and scouting etc should undrego the same checks.
