No, Thank you. I value life, And the idea that someone had to die for things that I may or may not do in the future is absolutely repugnant to me. If I'm going to do the Crime, its only right that I'd be the one to do the time - I take Responsibility for my actions, Not foist the punishment off on someone else, as if its going to make it all better.

All of you who have answered yes may be deluding yourselves. You stand or fall by your own deeds. All the scriptures make that clear. Why, the great “Son of Man”, as Jesus preferred calling himself, clearly described the tough path to salvation in Matthew 5:20 “For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall IN NO CASE enter into the kingdom of heaven.” (emphasis mine) There’s no escape in the OT either. You cannot hang your sins on anybody else. It says in plain language “the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.” You’ll find that in Ezekiel 18:20 onwards. As for the Holy Qur’an, (HQ) also called the Last Testament by some, it supports its sister scriptures on this issue by saying you cannot palm off your burden of sins onto another. The translation of HQ 35:18 says, “And no burdened soul can bear the burden of another, and if one, heavily laden, crieth for (help with) his load, naught of it will be lifted even though he (unto whom he crieth) be of kin.” Wake up, there is no free ride.

All men have been redeemed by the blood of Christ -- that's the Good News! -- whether they know it or not. What that means is that all men now no longer belong to Sin but to Christ ... and are His to do with as He see's fit at the Judgment. It's like the deliverance of Israel from Egypt: all Israel was redeemed from slavery in Egypt, but not all Israel entered the Promised Land.

The Crucifixion was planned and carried out by human beings who felt threatened by the message Christ was preaching, so in that sense it was certainly not "good news for mankind." Jesus preached the Kingdom Gospel, which was not about blood for sin.
