  • it sure is... wait.. didn't they make a movie about this?
  • How can that be possible? I think even the landlord should still deserve heating and water. It is not a luxury to have them, and in some states, it is required to have these amenities.
  • there is some justice in the world then!!
  • No, I believe compensating his tenants for the money paid for horrible living conditions is justice.
  • Absolute justice. By law, his tenants don't have to pay rent for the months the apartment was unlivable, so they're covered on that point. If the landlord has to experience what he was imposing on others, he may in the future make different choices. And it's what he deserves.
  • I think that's great. It couldn't possibly be here in the states.....Mayb after living like that, he'll become a little wiser and do something for the people living there. Was he a celebrity? They make the worst land lords.
  • No..because when he leaves he gets to go back to this fancy home of his and the tenants still live in apt's not fit for rats. The tenants should sue him for every month they lived there while they waited for things to be fixed and sue him for mental anguish.
  • It's a start. And after he's done living in the squalor he is asking rent for, he can bring them all into the 21st century and help them to not live like animals.
  • Oh yes - POETIC JUSTICE!! And they should throw in a few cockroaches and rats too, as a bonus - at no extra cost.
  • Some people just don't get what's going on until you make them see from firsthand experience. I think it IS a good thing. Didn't Joe Peschi make a movie about this same premise? I think he needs to see what he's making these people live with, and then he needs to fix that shit up. And in the mean time, give them some money to make their lives a little better. Maybe make the rent a little less for a month or towo.
