Yes, because we have the decency to recognize them and slur their good name. As for being evil and blasphemous maybe they shoul dtake the time to find out about us first.

I have yet to understand people. A lot of churches do teach "tolerance". But this seems to get lost in translation a lot. I am an agnostic living amongst a majority of one religion (around 70% in my city). So I understand religious discrimination quite well. I wear a cross and a pentagram, both which the local religion do not use except within the churches and temples. I had a teacher once tell me the pentagram I was wearing was evil and I would have to take it off. I laughed in his face and explained that the pentagram was also used by his religion, and I asked him if his religion was evil. The teacher never really did like me after that. Most people think that the pentagram is "evil", and honestly it makes me laugh, because most religions used the pentagram, or currently do. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the pentagram's five points represent fire, water, earth, wind, and spirit?(I can't remember if this is how it is represented in Wicca) The satanists only adopted the INVERTED pentagram as their symbol about 150 years ago. This was not its original meaning. Christians used it at one point to represent the five wounds of christ It was the official seal of Jerusalem for a while. sorry I know that was a bit of a rant, but I was pulling from my limited experience.

I guess that is up to the religion. I cannot say that I wouldn't like that, but I - we - do not measure the validity of our religion by what other religions say. I think they should recognize Wicca as a religion if they expect us to recognize them as a religion - as we, generally, do - and return what they receive in kind. What I care much, much MORE about is those who use their religion to justify the GOVERNMENT not treating us as a religion. That's what bothers me. Oh, and your question assumes that all other religions (Wicca is not, btw, a church) consider Wicca evil and blasphemous. That's not true. The only ones that do are Christianity and Islam. I've never met a Hindu, Buddhist, Jew, etc who does.

Yes, I do. Why? Because Wicca is a religion. A little knowledge goes a long way. If we can just get people to open their minds and do some reading they will find how truly ludicrous it is to assume us evil, etc.

The Catholic Church seeks and supports the freedom of religion for all human beings. In the Vatican II document, Declaration on Religious Freedom, Dignitatis Humanae (Human Dignity), the Church states: The human person has a right to religious freedom. This freedom means that all men are to be immune from coercion on the part of individuals or of social groups and of any human power, in such wise that no one is to be forced to act in a manner contrary to his own beliefs, whether privately or publicly, whether alone or in association with others, within due limits. For the entire document, see: http://www.vatican.va/archive/hist_councils/ii_vatican_council/documents/vat-ii_decl_19651207_dignitatis-humanae_en.html The citizens of the United States think this freedom is just as important as the freedoms of speech or the press. All are part of the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution: http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/constitution.billofrights.html The entire world also agreed with this opinion and included freedom of religion in the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights. See Article 2: http://www.un.org/Overview/rights.html With love in Christ.

Religion is just a group of people following a set of beliefs and common practices. With this definition, Wicca is as much of a religion as any other.
