Why do people use medicine when we can use herbs that do the exact same thing but with no side effects?

That is one f the eternal questions of life friend. I can give you a couple reasons: !. They're illegal and its a damn shame. 2. They are more expensive than meds 3.People kill each other over drugs just to name a few, but im down with you 100%.

It is generally not true (a) that herbs do exactly the same thing, and (b) that herbs have no side effects. While there are a few effective herbal remedies that re known and used, in many cases the claimed good effects of herbal remedies have never been tested, or have been tested and found to fail. And herbal remedies can have ill effects: remember that opium and cocaine are just concentrated herbal remedies, and marijuana is a herb.

Herbs don't do the exact same thing as medicine. They can do something without the side effects of drugs. People don't use them more because they don't know about them and because the medical community has no financial reasons to tout their benefits.

While I do believe that most if not all illnesses in the world can be cured w/ things found in nature, I'm pretty sure that most of these herbs have not yet been tested as the cure for a particular illness or haven't even been discovered yet. What I don't agree with is the fact that herbs don't have side effects, many of them do, and they can be just as harmful or severe as some meds.

They actually did use herbs to cure people and then in the advent of modern science we are able to exract only the things from the herb that help and then produce them cheaper and quicker in labs. growing crops has too many possibilities for error and loss while chemical reactions are exact and measureable and taxable.
