  • IF that is the case, milk it for all it is worth.
  • It's a way for Hallmark and other greeting card companies to make money and for restaurants, florist and chocolatiers to get some green in their pocket. My boss can be gruff at times and a pussy cat the next minute. He signs my paycheck every two weeks and I am there to do a job and I do it well. If I want to be appreciated I come home and get a hug from my husband or some cuddles from my four cats. I got a nice year end bonus in money and a gift, you can't expect a handout everytime the wind blows.
  • Have you asked for a payrise yet? It's always worth a go. So what exactly happens on the 'appreciation day'. Do you get a day off or something?
  • We'd get a 15 minute break once a month to eat cake for all the people who had birthdays on that month, and we also had meetings where they would brag about how in the past year, the company increased profits by over 40 million dollars... I guess a $10 dollar cake a month is cheaper than giving raises to the employees who made that possible.
  • I think it's sad when "employee appreciation day" is made one day a year. Obviously it should be an ongoing relationship with an employee where their concerns are addressed and schedule flexibility allowed etc. It isn't just a one day event where there is special treatment. www.ezinearticles.com/?Did-You-Miss-Employee-Appreciation-Day&id=1045236
