  • If you want my honest opinion, none, the benefits of the military don't compensate for the extreme downsides and risks.
  • I heard good things about the National Guard
  • Air force
  • I would think you would have a better chance of staying out of Iraq in the navy. National Guard = Welcome to Bagdad
  • I'm enlisted in the Navy as an aviation electrician's mate, working on H-60 helicopters. The chances of me (or any other random sailor) being sent to Iraq without putting in a request for it, are highly unlikely. To my understanding, it is the same way with the USAF/USCG. If you enlist in any branch, when they hand you your contract, READ IT, at least twice. Don't let them rush you. I new a guy that was signing for the marines for electronics and they did a switch-a-roo and when he left he re-read his contract and realized even though he told them his desired field, he was fooled into signing for basic infantry. If it's in your contract, they have to honor it. That's the bottom line. There is however a program going on called IA (individual augmentation) in which individuals are sent to augment the ground forces. I've known several hundred people, only 6 of which were sent IA, and each of those 6 had requested it. I've never known anybody to go against their will. Oh and depending what field your considering.... The Army has the best medical program, though the Navy's is also good. The Air Force has the best aviation in general. The Navy has the best legal, and the best electronics programs. The Coast Guard has the best dingies and row boat programs :-P. I don't know much about the Army National Guard. Of course this is all just from what I've taken in the past couple years, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Hope this helps.
  • The reason I joined was because I was always lazy, I had a hard time pushing myself and staying motivated. I figured the only way to change my personality was by joining the military. I thought I was going to really hate it, but if you added up all the time I've regretted my decision since I've been in, it would be less than 24 hours total. I have several friends that joined for similar reasons that agree with me. I don't know about the other branches, but life in the Navy can be very lax. In fact, the biggest surprise I've had so far is that there's a lot more time to relax and have fun than I ever would have expected. If you want the least possible chance of going to war, I'm guessing it would be in the CG/AF, though I'm not sure on that one.
  • None, come to Britain and be the best:-)
  • U.S. Marines! The elite of the elite. The first to go in, and the most honorable soldiers out there. I'm extremely proud of our troops deployed throughout the world. Good job and God bless, we're proud of you!!!
  • your local 'air national guard' gives best pay & incentives... (and is the furthest from actual fighting) but i'd HIGHLY suggest looking at the true structure of the military before considering joining. if you dont see the Freemasons... then you dont see ANY of it. as of 2010, you're in the 'North American Union'. There are mercenary groups that might interest you; BlackWater, Aegis & various others in the IPOA personally.. i've met too many satanists in various groups to feel good about joining any of them. i've never been a fan of being a pawn in the game. you've seen the game 'Starcraft'? "jacked up and good to go" SC = scottish council.... initials you've seen about a billion times without understanding. http://freemasonrywatch.org/masonic_abbreviations.html
  • The Army! :D
  • The Coast Guard...military without all the battle/overseas situations. However, it is the hardest branch to get into....
  • Marines if they will take you. If not there's always the army :-) Semper Fi!
  • Of course I'm going to say the United States Marine Corps is the greatest branch ever. But every branch has it's strenght's. College honestly would be the National Gaurd, or the Army. Even the Navy has good educational opportunities. The only one that doesn't really have a good educational program, unless you're in the reserves. Is of course the Marine Corps. Which if you're joining any branch of the military, it's not good to join for educational purposes. Cause believe it, or not. It all come's down to who's needed the most. Even to you people who think, "Oh I'm in the Navy I'll never get in the shit!" Thing again, you're the one's who take the Marine's! So OORAHH!
  • The Marines. They are the best trained. The most Honrable. And have the most discipline. And they get the job done.
  • The easiest and best living style would probably be the air force... I live in Okinawa Japan and see and have talked to every branch...most would say that air force is the easiest way to go. but to be a Marine is hands down bad ass=]]
  • Depends on what you wanna do, but if your like me and you want to be with the best of the best. Try the Marines or now you can even make an attempt at being an army ranger right out of boot camp. There are tons of possibilities just talk to some recruiters its risk free( as long as they don't push a paper and pen at you) its like shopping around. Go out and find out what fits you if your really serious about joining.
  • USMC hands down
  • conscientious objectors
  • im goin into the corps as an armorer and no matter where i go in life for the rest of my life i will have a job as a cop or fbi or cia before any air foce, army or coast guard wimp and the navy are good men sweatty over worked good moraled men and they are good taxi drivers
  • if you want to be safe then i would choose any branch of the military that does not have to do with IRAQ or ASSAULT RIFES. this is what i think...i personally favor the airforce and i might try that out. I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN THE MILITARY so i am just a civilian. 16.
  • USMC is the best military branch with no comparison! My grandfather, father, both brother, and uncles are ALL Marines. Semper Fidelis to all my favorite Marines.May God Bless All of You.
  • if you would like to go to war then marines or army. if u would like to stay here and have a ton more power over the other 4 branches then Coast Guard. and watch no one is going to believe this but look at http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/14/89.html it clearly states the power the CG has over other branches(by the way im about to go into the military and searched up all about this)
  • Coast Guard.
