best way is not to sign a contract in the first place. their are perfectly good phone service providers who don't require contracts.
boost mobile, cricket, pageplus cellular, Cincinnati bell I-wireless.
cricket also has broadband internet for your pc or laptop.
once you have the contract though, the only way to break it is usually to pay a contract breach fee or the price of your discounted or free phone.
once the phone's paid off, you can by the unlock code on ebay for under ten bucks and take it to Cincinnati bell or another service provider.

You're reading How do you change your phone / internet provider company they seem to hold people to ransom and lock you in for life, its only a phone contract they act like they are so much more than that with no way out.

im in the uk and only use a landline and they dont tell you nothing about length of contract it just rolls on no letters nothing and they tried to charge me £900 for getting out of it.now the large phone companys seem to be buying other phone companys making choices limited.

oh, i'd tell them "take your service and shove it" then get a cellular alternative if available.
when at&t started adding mystery charges and unasked for services to my phone line i told them "yo, i'm not taking this, you can come unplug your service right this instant because i'm not paying one more cent for this stuff i didn't ask for and i will sue if you don't get you equipment off my property immediately"
now i have a cricket cell phone and time warner cable internet.
these companies will take advantage of you if you show the slightest sign of weakness.
