  • Yep. I was in a pool hall with my old buddy when a fight broke out. Some immigrant kid was being pushed around by local punks and the entire room startin cryin for his blood. I am not adverse to scrappin - but the way this poor guy was being picked on was pathetic and unmanly. My friend on the other hand used to be picked on all his life (that's sorta the reason we're friends: I always bailed his ass out with my fists) and he is not the type to stand up to anyone...well... in a room full of vicouse babies who outnumber a single innocent guy, my friend began feelin brave and picked up a pool cue t join the attack. I helped that immigrant kid get out alive, and never respected looked at that friend of mine the same way again. +5

  • Yes. I was at a club in Baltimore (Baja Beach Club, which no longer exists), and was caught in a group of bachelor party guys. They literally had a few females in the circle. Most wanted to be there, but I and some others did not. I couldn't get out, they kept pushing me in and towards a large bucket of some alcoholic substance combined with a lot of stranger backwash (ewwww). These were otherwise upstanding, decent guys. The groom was an accountant at Legg Mason (or so he said). Anyway, the bouncers broke it up, and I'm glad. It was clear that it would have turned ugly otherwise. I've been in other mob mentality situations, but prefer not to go into them. They include two large scale labor protests (riots, really) in India. I stayed inside my guest house for the duration. You don't dare go to work/office, because you can - and will - get attacked for not participating in the "strike".
