People are protesting because it's "offensive to immigrants". Bull. Immigrants are illegal aliens. And personally, I resent that association. I find it funny, I admit. But that doesn't mean I don't have compassion for the issues over immigration and illegal aliens.
-
i think its hilarious.
-
No. It is definitely an alien from a distant planet. A legal alien from anywhere should get a laugh out of it. Must be the illegals doing the complaining. Oh, I see your new avatar and think that would be a great costume. I would really check it out!!! :):):)
-
No
-
Well, it is what it is. Funny to me.
-
Yes, I do. But, what the heck. They have no right to make anyone get rid of it if they are illegals.
-
Of course not
-
i don't. i think a lot of illegals would think its funny actually.
-
No
-
Hilarious! I want one!
-
wait...gotta go see if any are left at my target store!
-
No. I think it is a clever play on two ideas. One is fun. The other is illegal. Someone will always try to make the world PC and stop any form of questionable discussion or action. And it is too bad. It smothers creativity and the discussion/actions needed to move these ideas along toward resolution.
-
No way totally funny and I think making it a big deal issue is more harmful than the actual costume. Someone had a slow news day.
-
Nope, i think it is HILARIOUS
-
Why in the heck didn't I think of that? Whoever did is gonna make alot of dough. That's freakin hilarious.
-
I think it's hilarious, who wouldn't laugh at that! +3
-
i think its kinda funny, but borderline for others...
-
No. The migrant workers aren't without a sense of humor!
-
Not at all. I think its hilarious!
-
Well at least the only ones who will be offended will be the ones that can read English......LOL it's brilliant!
-
I find it to be quite funny.
-
no ppl who do are WAYYYYYYYYYYYY too f**king sensitive
-
People who find that offensive have no humor. It's an illegal, "alien". It's funny and to be truthful, there's probably far more really offensive costumes out there on the internet or in some remote part of the country.
-
I don't find it particularly funny or witty, no. But nor do I find it offensive. Let people where what they want to wear.
-
The last thing I would be worried about is offending the illegal aliens. If they don't like it then they can go back from where they came from. I think the costume is quite hilarious.
-
Only to illegal aliens from Zeta Reticuli. To the average human being, it's merely hilarious. Of course, PC Liberals aren't exactly average. But who cares what THEY think? lol.
-
I think it was a brilliant idea!!!! Hilarious as can be!
-
For ilegal imagrints Yes, but I find it creative and funny.
-
I didn't find the humorous costume objectionable. I came here expecting to find an image of YOUR costume. Please feel free to offend me. ;)
-
I don't find it any more offensive or politically incorrect than this costume: www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=11060939
-
Depends on who's wearing it....personally, I like your avatar:)
-
Only to the overly sensitive with no sense of humor. It gave me a giggle!
-
naw
-
No; I think it's funny!
-
If it said "Outer Space Alien" it would be in tune with the appearance. But when it says "Illegal Alien" it conjures up a picture a Mexican or Cuban. So that means there about 20 to 30 million people here in the United States that aren't going to think it is as funny as we might. The problem is not the costume. It is the over abundance of Illegal Aliens and our Government refuses to correct the problem. Even though, if the Illegal Aliens were not here we would have enough jobs for those who are presently unemployed. Yeah, I know; they might have to take a pay cut, but I had to do that twice in my 75 years and each time I rose to a better job in the new field. It's called LIFE. There are NO Guarantees. But there are Laws and the Illegal Aliens are breaking our Laws. So if they get their feeling hurt, I'm sorry, that's Life also.
-
It's not offensive to me.
-
no, i love it, it's very funny...
-
Not at all! I find it makes fun of the word ALIEN, which in my mind is a very pejorative word. This immigrants right group is wrong. They should thank target. just my 2 cents
-
No, I think it's funny.
-
That is a great costume.
-
I'm not "offended" by it at all. I could understand where it MIGHT have been offensive, if the words on the front of the costume had read "Inmigrante Ilegal," and the Green Card had read, "Carta Verde." Are any of these costumes offensive? http://www.pbs.org/wnet/broadway/stars/images/williams_b_pic2.jpg http://collegeotr.s3.amazonaws.com/images/blogs/7eed9223e68ac7873ef6804644c63bb7.jpg http://www.geckoblue.org/images/posts/2003/costumes_bestiality.jpg http://www.drewmarlowe.com/pictures/priest_costume%5B1%5D.jpg +5

no but yours is lol not really ! I don't think so , do Christians find them offensive?
-
Offensive to who, illegal aliens? What are they going to do, protest and take you to court? For get about it, Just wear the damn thing and don't worry.
-
I think it's foolish and would consider anyone who wore it just bitter and jealous of another culture. I'm 50 miles from the border, it's still hard to understand the Latinos, on the surface they are very reserved but thers more to it. Sure, they are a huge drain on the medical system, a big problem. It's just stupid, something a high school freshman would think up. Oh, gawd isn't it a huge temptation to pick up a Mexican standing on the corner and pay him half for twice the work when there are a few dozen whites sitting around at Labor Ready temp agency that have Social Security cards. Sure keep whining, but the US administration doesn't see it as a priority, but don't take frustration out on the people.
-
Someone is getting all huffy over nothing. Give me a break.
-
To a certain extent.. possibly. But I honestly think it's more a creative use of words and maybe even mocking the people who would actually find this humorous or who complain about the illegal immigrants.
-
lol i see how it could be offensive but me and my friend think its pretty damn hilarious
-
Good grief!
-
Hell no can i see you in it properly please??
-
Not really. Personally I find it to be pretty funny. I'll laugh at anything - including myself.
-
No I think its great.
-
Personally its not offensive to me..however if I were in the situation it refers to..I may think differently..I think holding the card makes it a little more offensive than its intended to be..saying that we can't say anything these days without offending someone can we? :D
-
Nope, I think its pretty darn funny!
-
Anything that incites hatred or violence is offensive. I don't live in California, nor am I an illegal alien, however, if it offends people to that degree, it should be banned. I'm sure that if someone wore a Nazi costume for Halloween in an area heavily populated by Jewish people, they would not take kindly to that.
-
I do not, nor can I see how actual illegal aliens would find it offensive since it really is making fun of the term, not the people. . But, and I realize this might make me a DR magnet, why should it matter if they DID find it offensive? . This is America, land of the slutty/inane/offensive, and yes, 'distasteful and mean-spirited' Halloween costume. If you don't like it: http://www.buycostumes.com/Tough-S-t-Adult-Costume/17923/ProductDetail.aspx
-
Nope.
-
I would like to note that it is Executive Director Angelica Salas of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights* who is offended and not necessarily any actual illegal aliens. . Her real purpose in this is of course to draw attention to the . Perhaps I'm unqualified to speak for illegal aliens - certainly I don't have a paid executive position like Angie - but I would think being easily victimized by employers and thieves and the difficulty of finding place a place to live and pressing concerns than a once-a-year Halloween costume, but maybe that's why no one pays me the big bucks. . Anyway, she got to whine on behalf of her constituents, regardless of how accurately she represents them. ____________________________________________________ * Something of an oxymoron as legal immigrants have rights already spelled out and those who become citizens have the same rights as any other American regardless of vintage or pedigree. Personally I find it offensive that this organization wishes to blur the distinction between immigrants and illegals. In no way does she represent legal immigrants.
-
No. I am Hispanic and I find it kind of funny. It reminds me of the movie "Men in Black", in which, at the beginning of the movie, illegal aliens were being stopped at the border with Mexico, but then we realize that the real aliens they were looking for were aliens from outer space disguised as Mexicans crossing the border. Lighten up! It is just a joke!
-
Not if you can't read english.
-
lmao i think it's hilarious
-
I think people have become way too politically correct. Now we are offending illegal aliens with the costume? I'm sorry, but illegal is the operative word there. With no disrespect or real political charge whatsoever, I happen to think that the pun of the costume is at least clever.
-
No...it does not refer to immagrants only illegal aliens....
-
HAHAHA it's a very clever costume
-
If they don't like it then get the hell out! only those who are here illegally would be upset with this kinda thing
-
not at all. +5
-
No its pretty funny though lol.
-
No... I am even really big on immigrant rights, but I don't find that offensive. I would have imagined it was more a but of fun relating to the term, not actually immigrants.
-
Oh hell no - God forbid we laugh it up a little bit.
-
i don't have a problem with it
-
I'm not offended by it but I understand why people might be offended by it.
-
No, I think it's funny. When I hear the words "illegal alien," this is what comes to mind.
-
nope i dont think its really offensive:)
-
Ignorant and hateful comes to mind
-
no, kinda dumb but not offensive
-
I think it's funny. Anyone who thinks it's offensive, doesn't really have a right to. Either they're an illegal alien (Hello, it's called illegal for a reason! Breaking the law is a bad thing the last time I checked, and is reprehensible in every sense) Or they are accepting illegal aliens, which is condoning breaking the law... Do I think it's wrong that they're here? no. Except for the fact that they are breaking the law. I'm not prejudiced against anybody, but laws are in place for a reason, and should be worked with, and not broken. Changed? Maybe, and in some cases definitely. But not broken.
