I try to support and encourage my son, and try to support but dissuade my daughter.

i would wonder where i did my son wrong. and pray i never rent my daughters "work"..

I would encourage my son and try to find out why my daughter would want to do that. I would try to counsel her on other more stable and long term goals.

First I would tell my son not to throw away his life on a dead end job and second I would offer to become my daughters manager. Yeah - sounds a bit sick doesn't it?...maybe my wife would like to manage my daughters career then.

I would warn both of them about the consequences of their decision. I'd tell the daughter that once her career as a porn star ends, she may not be able to get another job. And with my son, I'd warn him first that not everyone passes the pyschological test required to become a police officer, and that even if he passes, he must be ready to accept the risk to his life.

Encourage your son and let him sort his sister out. They would be adults and anything other than advice would usually be ignored....they have to make their own way. :o)

Give my son a gun, and be my daughters agent.lol. But seriously. That's awesome your son wants to be a cop, that is what I am going to school for currently. Your daughter, well I don't know. I mean obviously she is an adult, or will be one. So I guess I would just tell her your view of that, not angrily, but calmly. Because some people, me probably being one, you yell at me and tell me I can't do something ( I am 23) I will go and do it, because you made me mad by yelling at me. So if you don't approve calmly approach her and talk to her about it and let her tell you why she wants to do it. Tell her then just leave it at that. I mean there is no way to actually stop her, but I would think that (or at least for me) I am more likely to listen to another person's view if they sit and talk to me about it. + 3
