  • That's pretty stupid frankly. If it's "Voluntary, then they have a choice. The way you're asking it, sounds like you want slave labor going on...Such a nice person you are..NOT!.
  • No, but I would say that voluntary work would definitely better their chances of finding a job opening. It helps to put your name out there.
  • I think they should reduce the workweek so that the number of available jobs roughly corresponds to the amount of work that needs to be done given 100% employment.
  • Why? Slavery is work for nothing and get nothing. The long term unemployed may be that becasue they are... wait for it.... unemployable! It's the bookworm "i've not lived a life" academics that are screwing up the understanding of people by not actually going out and talking to real people they just read a book, write a paper and go into a social services department. Mental illness, social exclusion, fear and repression are things people love to talk about but no one person can do anything about. Sure there are people who manage to evade the system just as there are employed people who never do any work but it's the drive to make everybody work to pay a debt they may not even owe regardless of what they think or their condition that annoys me
  • yes. our infrastructure needs it.
  • How does taking away time from my MANDATORY job search by volunteering help matters?
