What a loaded question. What I think is that being anything that is not acepted, and is often discriminated against (L, G, B, or T) is going to be difficult, depending on your environment. Of course, there are some supportive and less difficult environments for lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgendered people, but most likely, it will be challenging to be part of the LGBT spectrum. There are individual things that may make it harder to be one than the other (depending on your community and on other negative forces at work, such as misogyny or ideas of masculinity), but there isn't probably a universal answer.

The only thing I can see "easier" about being a lesbian, rather than a gay man, is the fact that many heterosexual men fantasize about woman-on-woman sex. That could possibly remove one aspect of discrimination they might encounter. One could also counter than many straight women like to have gay companions, so that would negate the difference.
