i think that longer school years is a great idea. i think longer school days is a horrible idea that would have a negative effect.

From a person retired from work in public schools, I have to agree. Half the day is spent with breakfast, lunch and specials. Oh, then you throw in a few assembly days and party hours for varies holidays. Yes, 9:10 till 2:25 is not long enough.

Many Outcome Based Education factors have been instituted in the schools. This is another one. The goal is to to alter the Attitudes & Beliefs of students so they can be more easily manipulated. Check out legislator Ron Sunseri's book on OBE & how he discovered its true objectives.
