I used to when I was a child, however as an english major I became obsessed with vocabulary and spelling and now have a huge vocabulary. Slightly off topic, but I couldn't help it, in my opinion thats the beauty of language(or english at least), there is a "standard" of acceptable grammar and vocabulary set down for most speakers for generations. However, it is difficult to say whether it isn't a word or not, as no one can truly make that 100% fact. If you compose a word, (assuming you used english composition,) it means what it means whether anyone like it or not. Malword for example, is a (albeit poor attempt, but then again I don't practice poor vocabulary) bad word. Both literally and figuratively :P. Is it in the dictionary? Probably not. Though there are a lot of words not in the dictionary. So, who's to say you have no right to make words ^^D.

I do make up words all the time and then a few years later they seem to have caught on, maybe not by me but the word just get's picked up because it works. As far as transfiguration, transubstantiation is a goodie too. It means turning Christ's body from bread and wine into his body and blood. It can be used in a variety of ways though.
